Happy New Wing! Its 2013....

HAPPY NEW YEAR...I am back, refreshed and ready to share...

I am not sure where time is going but it most definitely is going. You know how people say that as they get older time seems to go faster? Well unfortunately that statement is all too true...why is that? Is it because we are heading toward an end and we are all struggling to hold on to what we have as we get older. All I know is that the faster time moves the more I want to spend time enjoying it with my family and close friends. For this reason recipes like today's, originally found on Foodess are very helpful in freeing up some time to do just that.

Sticky Honey Garlic Chicken Wings...

You will need the following to create your very own:

1/2 Cup Soy Sauce
3/4 Cup Honey
1 Tsp Sesame Oil (optional)
6 Cloves of Garlic minced (or if you are like me much more)
Green Onions chopped finely
Chicken Wings (Sorry I didn't look at the weight I just pulled out enough for 3 adults)

Start by heating your oven to a toasty warm 400ยบ and lining your baking sheet with foil and a top layer of parchment paper.

In a mixing bowl whisk together your soy sauce, honey, sesame oil

and garlic.

Toss in to this mixture your chicken wings and swish to coat them all evenly. This part can be done the night day before, morning of or just before they go in to the oven. What I liked about this recipe is that even if I forget to prep them ahead of time they are still delicious without the additional marinating time.

When you are ready to cook your wings, remove them from the sauce and spread them out in a single layer on to your prepped baking sheet.

Make sure to keep your marinade for later use.

Bake your wings for 35 minutes...brush them with your marinade at the 10 minute mark and again at the 20 minute mark. Foodess reminds us NOT to brush anything on after the 20 minute mark as the raw chicken marinade will not have enough time to cook...and no one wants food poisoning.

During the last 10 minutes of cooking, pour your marinade into a small pot and boil over high heat until your sauce becomes thick and syrupy ...

Do make sure to play close attention as it quickly goes from syrupy to burnt.

Once your wings are out of the oven, toss them with the syrupy sauce...sprinkle with your green onions and serve.

                                                                       Delicious!

As you have probably noticed I didn't add the Green Onions for this shot...ooops! I think I was too anxious to eat and forgot until serving them.

Now Go Be Brave...and explore new ways to save time and energy that can instead be spent with the ones you LOVE!!
